That's Not Me, Either
That's Shane Hamman. Now, I don't know who Shane Hammon is, but they have
a picture of him on the
24 Hour Fitness
health club website.
I've been going to Gold's Gym since I got here, since my employer has a
discounted membership there. But wierdness of wierdnesses - in Utah, all
of the Gold's Gyms that were built as Gold's Gyms (i.e., not aquired by
a merger with another gym) have pools and spas. Here in Arizona, where
one might reasonably expect every apartment, hotel, and convenience store
to have a pool, I've been to one hotel that didn't have one, one hotel
that didn't THINK they had one (but it turns out that there was one - we
just didn't find out until after we'd checked out) and now I find out that
none of the Gold's Gyms in Arizona have pools or spas.
But the 24 Hour Fitness gyms all have pools and spas. So I decided that I
would get myself a trial membership there, before I committed to Gold's.
And it's a very nice place - it's just a little bit farther from the
office than Gold's is, and it's closer to the meeting house (for both
AA and OA) in North Scottsdale.
And it doesn't have the incredible hulksters that seem to have taken
over Gold's Gym here in Arizona. Not that I mind - those folks have
every right to be wherever they want to be - but it's a bit intimidating
to be working out next to someone who could swat you like a fly or
squash you like the irritating little bug that you are - I mean, me :)
And the women - oh, the women! I took a picture of two of them yesterday -
I'll post it as soon as I can. Girls with larger biceps - and less body
fat - than me. Not just a LITTLE. A LOT. Sweet little smiles, big honkin'
arms. Pretty, and formidable. Petite, and buff, and rough on the ego :)
"Anything that's bad for my ego is good for me." Maybe so, but I reckon
I'll hang around 24 Hour Fitness, with the invalids and the old ladies :)
